The headlines that broke our hearts: where are these dogs & their abusers now?

Following the shooting, Florida City police spokesman, Officer Ken Armenteros, explained “We don’t have the luxury of hind sight. We have to use the information that is given to us in a split second. So, the officer has to make that decision with the information that he has available.”

Careful not to quickly make a statement either for or against Officer Terry’s actions, Armenteros said the police department would gather all the facts and make a determination on how to proceed.

After reviewing the case, watching the video footage, and investigating the incident, Terry’s sergeant recommended that the officer be fired.

However, a lieutenant reviewed the investigation and determined that the shooting did not meet the necessary criteria for Terry’s termination. He continues to work as a Florida City officer today.

Up NEXT, was the California dogsitter caught on video abusing a client’s dog ever charged with abuse?
