I found some truly awesome discounts on dog food, doggy games and dog treats that will help you and your furry friend get through the dreary winter weather.

I’ve also found a few good deals on dog travel products that will make going on vacation, on a hike or camping with your dog a little safer, easier and much more fun.

Amazon Deals on Dog Supplies

Amazon.com has some good deals on Purina Pro Plan dog food this week. They also provide a 15% discount coupons on dog food for an even better price. They ship for free if your order totals over $35.00, so you might want to buy enough for a couple of months.

Purina Pro Plan Savor lamb and rice dry dog food is on sale for a great price. They are selling a 35-pound bag for $36.99. Amazon members can use a 15%-off coupon to get it for $31.44 (Click under the price).

I think this is a pretty good food for less than $1.00 per pound. The first two ingredients are chicken and brewer’s rice. That is actual chicken, not chicken meal or chicken by-product. If your dog prefers beef or lamb flavor, you can get the beef and rice formula or the chicken and rice formula for the same price.

Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Skin and Stomach is on sale for $39.99 for a 33-pound bag. There is a 15%-off coupon available for this one, too, which brings the price down to $34.00 per bag. Salmon and brewer’s rice are the first two ingredients in this formula. It also contains plenty of omega fatty acids to keep skin healthy and lots of antioxidants.

Purina Pro Plan Sport dog food is on sale for $41.99 for a 37.5-pound bag. You can get either the Performance 30/20 formula or Active 26/16 formula for the same price. This is a savings of $14.00 on the Performance formula and $7.00 on the Active formula. With the 15%-off coupon, you can get either of these formulas for $35.69.

Amazon also has decent deals on Purina Pro Plan Bright Mind dog food for our more mature, furry little geniuses. While you are at Amazon through other dog food deals, take a look at some fun dog toys to keep your furry friend entertained indoors this winter. Toys for dogs that dispense pet food or doggy treats will occupy his or her mind for hours. Here’s what I’ve found this week:

Our Pets Smarter Interactive IQ Treat Ball is available in the 3-inch size for $5.59 or the 4-inch size for $8.34. The 3-inch ball is for small dogs while the 4-inch ball is for medium to large dogs. This is a clear hard plastic ball that dispenses treats or kibble when your dog rolls it around. This particular model is adjustable so you can make it a little more difficult for the dog to get the food or treat as he figures out how to work it.

The large Omega Paw Tricky Treat ball is a 5-inch diameter, soft vinyl treat-dispensing ball that Amazon is selling for $5.32. That is 63% off list price. This soft vinyl ball is ideal when quiet play is preferred. The hard plastic types can be loud if the dog crashes them into walls and furniture. The down-side to this model is that it is not adjustable. They are selling the small size for $5.04 and the medium size for $14.01.

There are some decent interactive puzzle dog toys are treat- or kibble-dispensing toys that are a bit more challenging. These are used to keep your dog busy while you are nearby. They aren’t the type of puppy toy that you can just fill with pet food and leave your dog alone with. Most of them are pretty durable but they are not puppy chew toys.

• Outward Hound Kyjen Paw Hide Treat Toy is a puzzle toy that will keep your dog busy while he finds out where the treat is. The treats or kibble are hidden beneath the cups so the dog has to figure out which cup or cups the goodies are in. Amazon is selling this interactive toy for $9.33 which is 38% off list price.

• Nina Ottoson’s is a big name in interactive puzzle toys. These toys are available in a variety of types and levels of difficulty to challenge all dogs from beginners to the most clever little brainiacs. Amazon is offering some great deals on these toys with prices ranging from $21.99 to $31.97. These prices are 25% to 50% off list price.

• Ethical Pet Seek-A-Treat dog puzzles are also on sale at Amazon for more than half off. The Shuffle Bone dog puzzle and Flip ‘N Flap dog puzzle are both available for $7.99. List price on these puzzle toys is $19.99.

KONG dog chews and food-dispensing toys are must-haves for dogs that are left alone for any length of time. These were about the only toys that would last more than two minutes for my big dogs.

Amazon has some pretty good deals on KONG chews and toys this week. At these prices, you can afford to pick up a few different types so your dog doesn’t get bored. These are great for dogs with separation anxiety, which generally sets in and escalates within 20 minutes after being left alone. The dog will be so focused on working the food out of the KONG when you leave that he or she will forget to worry about where you are and when you will be home.

• KONG Classic fillable dog toys are on sale for 25% to 30% off. Prices range from $6.81 to $19.75, depending on the size. These are great for filling with treats, peanut butter or cheese to occupy your dog’s time while you are away.

• KONG Stuff-A-Balls are only $12.21. Stick a biscuit in the center and load the ridges up with peanut butter or KONG Stuff ‘N Paste. Your dog can chew up the biscuit then clean his teeth while chewing on the ridges filled with peanut butter or paste.

• Large KONG Goodie Bones are only $8.89 which is 46% off the regular price. These are natural rubber bone-shaped chew dog toys that you can put treats in. Working the treats out of this bone takes time and effort.

• KONG Senior is a classic fillable toy designed for the teeth and jaws of older dogs. The medium size is on sale for $8.04 which is about 20% off. The small size is $6.14 and the large is $9.75 at Amazon, which is regular price, but they are on sale for a better price at Chewy.com.

Chewy.com Deals on Dog Supplies

Chewy.com has some great sales on dog toys this week. The small KONG Senior classic fillable toy is on sale for just $3.69 and the large is only $7.19, which is cheaper than Amazon. These prices are 26% and 28% off the original cost.

KONG Cozie toys are on sale at Chewy, too. These are plush squeak dog toys that are built KONG-tough. Dogs love to play with them then take them to bed to cuddle. KONG uses an extra layer of material, to make it harder for dogs to get to the squeaker, and less filling, so they don’t make such a mess if your dog does rip them apart.

• Cozie Marvin the Moose, Rosie the Rhino and King the Purple Haired Lion are $4.29 for the small size or $4.99 for the large.

• Cozie Ali the Alligator, Elmer the Elephant and Spunky the Monkey are $4.29 for the small or $5.49 for the Medium.

If you are looking for some new Nylabone chew toys for dogs, Chewy has the deals for you. These chews are available in edible and “non-edible” varieties. The “non-edibles” are good for chewing but they are not supposed to be eaten by your dog. I throw the old ones away when they start to get worn down. At these prices, you can afford to snap up some new ones and a few extras.

• The Puppy Chew Starter Kit Triple Pack is on sale for $4.89. Competitors sell this same item for $10.09 or more. The package contains 1 edible bone, 1 bone for teething and 1 bone for active chewing.

• Nylabone Puppy Chew Teething Pacifier is a cute chew for puppies under 15 pounds. Chewy has it on sale for $4.69.

• DuraChew Bacon Flavor Nylabones are on sale for $1.69 to $7.82, depending on the size. The available sizes range from X-Small to X-Large.

• The DuraChew Dental Chew Dino is on sale for $3.34. This particular Nylabone is covered with little bumps to help remove tartar.

Coupaw.com has some good deals on treats and chews, too, and each order earns 6 meals for homeless pets. Right now they are selling a 60-pack of USA Venison Sausages for just $15.95 and shipping is free. This item usually sells for $32.00. These are grass-fed venison sausage sticks. Each stick is 5 inches long and about 1/8-inch wide.

They have an excellent sale going on right now on Dual-Sided Ultra Soft Fleece pet beds in 6 different colors. They are selling both the medium and large sizes for only $13.95! This sale ends on Sunday, January 10, 2016 so don’t waste time. The medium size is 30” long by 20” wide and 3” thick. The large is 36” by 24”.

They keep the dog safely belted in and contained while raising them up a little so they can see out the window. An AKC Adjustable Car/Vehicle Harness is another good option for safe travel that is on sale at Coupaw. It has adjustable straps that click into any seatbelt and the part that goes over the dog’s chest has a soft Sherpa lining. This harness looks very sturdy and comfy but you need to hurry if you want to get it for these prices.
