Dog saved from earthquake rubble waits for deceased owner to return

Recently, Ecuador was shaken by a 7.8 magnitude earthquake that left a trail of utter destruction and has claimed over 500 lives. Thousands are injured and the death toll is rising. Rescuers have been digging in the rubble looking for survivors. And one survivor they found is a dog.

A photographer named Hugo Cedeño caught a heartbreaking scene of the dog, sitting on the rubble, patiently waiting for his owner to return. The dog had no idea his beloved human had perished.

The heartbreaking video of the dog waiting for his dead owner to return went viral.

Together with a local animal rescue group, the photographer brought the dog to safety. He has also been checked by the vet, and thankfully he is doing okay.

The dog, whose name is Max, is now with the family members of his deceased owner. We are happy to know that Max has a family to take care of him. Hopefully, his broken heart will be healed soon.

That is the loyalty of a dog. He will never leave your side even in such tragic times.
