Petplan and total pet care partner to offer better pet insurance to owners
On May 30th a unique new partnership will be launching to meet the growing demand for high-quality healthcare for pets. Pet care company, Best Friends Total Pet Care, and pet insurance provider, Petplan, share a core belief that pets are family, and they are joining forces to help consumers get what they need from the $15 billion per year veterinary care industry.
Best Friends Pet Care has 38 centers in 18 states that provide the absolute best care for dogs and cats including veterinary and wellness services, grooming, boarding, training, and doggy day camp. One of their centers is even located inside Walt Disney World. The company opened its flagship center in 1996. At Best Friends Pet Care dogs can spend one-on-one time with a pet-loving staff member, play on the doggy playground with other canines, or nap in an all-suite Doggy Village.
Petplan is one of the leading pet insurance companies in the world and last year they were named to Forbes’ annual list of America’s Most Promising Companies for the third year in a row. The list consists of 100 privately held, high-growth companies that have bright futures ahead. It was also the only pet insurance company included on the Inc. Magazine’s list of the 500 fastest-growing privately held companies in the United States.
They offer fully customizable dog and cat insurance policies that provide standard comprehensive coverage of all chronic and hereditary conditions for the life of the pet. Not to mention coverage for any unforeseen accidents, which dog owners know can happen at any time.
After an extensive review of the pet insurance market, Best Friends Total Pet Care has chosen Petplan as its preferred provider for their more than 50 Total Pet Care Centers and veterinary hospitals across the United States. In turn, Petplan will extend special offers and promotions to Best Friends’ over 500,000 clients.
Best Friends already offers a “Total Pet Care” wellness plan that covers preventative healthcare, routine care, and other services. The company’s partnership with Petplan will offer clients coverage on unexpected veterinary care as well as supplement their already existing program.

Chris Ashton, Petplan co-founder and CEO, says that the partnership will make exceptional veterinary care more accessible to pet parents around the country and that the company is proud to make the state-of-the-art medical facilities of Best Friends Total Pet Care more accessible to people who may otherwise not be able to afford these advanced treatments for their beloved pets.
