Dog Vomiting: Eating and Changes in Diet
One of the most common causes of dog vomiting is food, and not just any food. Dogs are famous for foraging through mountains garbage in search of food, and any other unpackaged goods they can get their paws on. In addition to eating garbage, dog vomiting can be the result of eating grass, plant leaves, insects, dirt, and more. In these cases, once the dog vomits the food or plants back up, he will be just fine. Just be sure to have plenty of fresh, cold water on hand for him. Dietary changes are also a common cause of dog vomiting. If you introduce a new food into a dogs diet too quickly, he may vomit until he becomes used to it. To avoid this unpleasant side effect, introduce new foods (or brands) into your dog’s diet slowly.
