Along with co-anchor Noll Brennan, this pooch-loving public figure has another message to share: watch out for your dog’s paws in the heat of summer!
Although many dog owners know the dangers of bare paws on hot pavement, local veterinarian Dr. Kevin Fitzgerald says that year after year, he sees a huge rise in paw-related injuries during the warmer months.
“We probably see them, certainly every weekend, but probably every other day,” he told Denver’s KARE 11.
“The problem with healing on pads of the feet is [a dog is} walking on it all the time. The enemy of healing is motion,” he said in the story.
