One of the most common reasons a dog is given to a shelter is because of the addition of a human baby in the household. Whether the families try unsuccessfully to accustom their dogs to the new lifestyle or they’re too afraid to even introduce the two, dogs often end up homeless when a new baby arrives. Fortunately for this Beagle, his family refused to give him up because of their daughter and the results are exactly what we expected. This Beagle and their new baby have become best friends and we just know it’s going to last forever.

There are certainly precautions to take when bringing a new baby into a home with pets, but this video proves that when done correctly and safely, babies and dogs can become the very best of friends. Do your child get along well? Share your story with us!
