The very first drive thru restaurant for dogs is open for business
The drive-thru is an American tradition and a part of our every day lives. Nowadays you can do your banking, pick up your dry cleaning, drop off a prescription and grab an espresso – all without getting out of your car.
Some of these lovely establishments offer our pup passengers a pat on the head or a treat to-go, but one innovative drive-thru business in Pennsylvania has gone completely to the dogs!
Bane & Vader’s Drive Thru opened their flagship store Saturday, October 1 at 2477 Birch Street in Easton, PA. Think Chipotle designed especially for dogs! You choose from a variety of fresh grains, proteins, vegetables and extras to create the perfect meal for your pup’s tastes and dietary needs.
They offer three different sizes of Bowwow Bowls – Small (for dogs up to 27 pounds), Medium (28 – 57 pounds) and Large (58 pounds and up). You then choose one protein source – chicken, turkey, salmon or ground beef- two vegetables – carrots, peas, red cabbage, spinach, green beans, squash or broccoli- and one grain – white rice, brown rice, lentils or bran.
The choices certainly don’t end there. Bane & Vader’s – which is named for owner Amanda Brown’s two English Bulldogs – is proud to cater to any dog’s needs with grain-free and raw options from FreshPet.
They even offer a few fruits for pups with a sweet tooth – choose from apples, cantaloupe, blueberries or watermelon. Optional add-on scoops include yogurt, eggs, peanut butter, pumpkin and cottage cheese. Yum!
For those who feed their dogs a dry kibble or canned food diet, Bane & Vader’s may seem like an unnecessary luxury. However, more and more pup parents are opting to feed whole-food and home-cooked diets which can be quite expensive and time consuming to prepare.
The Bowwow Bowls offer a healthy alternative for busy dog owners to feed a balanced meal on-the-go. You can also think of it as a great way to give your canine pal a special treat from time to time – Bane & Vader’s will surely be hosting many dog birthday parties as their business ramps up!
For now, there is just the one location in Easton, PA, but the entrepreneurs behind this “Bite With A Bark” establishment hope to spread their brand of healthy canine fast-food across the country in the coming years.
One thing is for sure, a Bowwow Bowl beats a Milkbone any day! Follow Bane & Vader’s on Facebook and Instagram for news and updates.
