Everyone, meet Mickey–a dog with a problem in his esophagus that he needs a high chair for him to eat.
Mickey was around 33 to 35 pounds when he arrived at the Lethbridge and Distinct Humane Society in Alberta, Canada. The problem is that his esophagus does not contract to push food or water down. So for Mickey to eat and let food and water go down his digestive system, he has to sit in a special high chair, otherwise known as the Bailey chair.
The shelter staff spoonfeeds Micki while he’s sitting upright on the high chair. His special meal consists of a soft diet, such as pumpkin puree, or wet food. In his sitting position, the food would just slide down his throat.

But with Mickey’s condition, he’s having trouble finding a family who will take care of his special needs.
Feeding Mickey is not only a little pricey, but it also takes time and effort- and it can be messy.

Mickey needs someone who will love him, someone who believes that his love is worth the time and effort in feeding him.
