Random act of kindness lets this 3 year old know his dog is resting peacefully in heaven
In today’s world, it seems that sometimes random acts of kindness are few and far between. For some, a little effort, or even just a small gesture can change someone’s life for the better more than that kind stranger will ever know. When three-year-old Luke Westbrook lost his Beagle this past April, he made a routine of sitting at the dinner table with his mother, Mary, to pen his beloved dog handwritten notes. The notes were always addressed to “Moe Westbrook, Doggie Heaven, Cloud 1”, and each night the sweet boy would walk outside with his mother to place the envelope in the mailbox.
Each night after Luke had gone to bed, Mary would fetch the envelope, not wanting her boy to lose faith in what his heart believed. But one evening Mary forgot, and the next morning she awoke to an empty mailbox with the letter missing. She thought nothing of it until she received this handwritten letter about two weeks ago, with the return address simply stating, “From Moe”:
In an essay for Distinctionhr.com, Mary writes: “Receiving the note reminded me of the goodness of people and just how big a small gesture can really be. Here’s to Moe, in doggie heaven, and thoughtful postal workers everywhere.”
Wherever you are out there, the thoughtful postal worker who did this, know that you are genuine person for allowing a little boy to believe in something to ease his broken heart. Share this sweet story in memory of Moe!
