Review: maxxidog dog supplements

Many dog owners choose to give their pets supplements on top of their regular diet. Supplements for dogs may have added benefits for the dog’s skin and coat, joints or digestive tract. In many cases, owners don’t start giving their dog pet supplements until they show signs of needing them, which isn’t what all veterinarians will normally advise. Below, I’ll review some of these dog supplements, made by MaxxiDog.
Dog joint supplements are given as your dog ages and begins having hip trouble- pre- and probiotics for dogs are given after digestive issues pop up. But what about preventative measures? We have always given our dogs supplements to make up for the nutrients missing in their daily diet, and we start when they are puppies.
Remember that you need to consult with your veterinarian before starting your dog on any of these MaxxiDog supplements for pets.
Your vet will discuss your dog’s current diet and help you select the supplements that will be beneficial for your dog’s individual needs. Contrary to popular belief, there are some nutrients, like certain vitamins and minerals, that are healthy in recommended doses but dangerous if your dog ingests too much.
MaxxiDog Dog Supplements Review
I was sent these MaxxiDog supplements for pets in exchange for my honest review. As you can see in my video review, some of these products produced noticeable effects in our dogs within a few days, but most of the internal effects are not easily measurable.
MaxxiDigest for dogs
The first thing I need to mention is that this product isn’t available in the U.S. just yet. I spoke with the company yesterday, and it should be available for U.S. consumers by the end of the month.
Did you know that a large part of your dog’s immune system is located in his gut? I started giving our dog’s pre- and probiotics a couple of years ago when I was told about the importance of digestive health from our vet. We brought our boxer in for bowel problems, and our veterinarian told us that bowel and digestive issues are some of the most common issues that she sees.
I was intrigued by MaxxiDigest because it claims to be much more than a probiotic. It also incorporates ingredients including L-Glutamine which repairs the damaged intestinal mucosal barrier, Bromelain – a natural digestive aid and antihistamine, and Biotin which supports the function of enzymes in the body.
It’s a powder that you sprinkle over your dog’s food each day. It didn’t seem to change the palatability of the dog food at all. Our dogs ate it as they normally do.
MaxxiDog claims that this formula will help your dog’s overall digestion, balance gut pH, help with food sensitivities, maintain a healthy gastrointestinal tract, and more. We’ve tried this with our dogs for a few weeks now, and the difference was noticeable after just a few days! I couldn’t believe it.
My favorite thing about MaxxiDigest? It reduced our dogs’ gas by about 90%! Our boxer is a brachycephalic breed. They are known for gas, and boy did she have it – all the time! Giving her a traditional prebiotic and probiotic did decrease the prevalence of her flatulence, but only by about 30-40%.
MaxxiSAMe for dogs
SAM-e, or S-adenosylmethionine, is a compound that naturally occurs in the body and plays a major role in supporting normal bodily functions. The MaxxiSAMe formula is supposed to help protect and maintain good liver health in dogs and support cognitive function in aging pets.
This is also a powder that you sprinkle on your pet’s food, and this one didn’t seem to change the taste either. Our dogs still ate as they normally would.
“MaxxiSAMe is a very special product, there are very few like it available on the market. It has to be compared with supplements that contain SAM-e as an ingredient. SAM-e is the best ingredient for liver issues but it is a very expensive ingredient. It cannot be compared to a supplement containing Milk Thistle only, neither in price or function. However, due to its special function, MaxxiSAMe is not relevant for pets not suffering from liver issues or cognitive dysfunction.” – Birgir and Asa, creators of MaxxiDog Supplements
Does MaxxiSAMe it work? Honestly, I don’t know. Our dogs ate it and didn’t suffer any negative side effects, and that’s really all I can tell you. If your dog has liver trouble or you have an aging dog that is showing signs of canine dimensia, you may be able to notice a difference, but in our healthy, young dogs there was no noticeable change.
MaxxiFlex Plus for dogs
This is a joint health supplement that supports comfortable joint movement. It’s made with Glucosamine and Chondroitin, two supplements that many dog owners are familiar with. It also includes other ingredients that have been shown to support joint health including Hydrolyzed Collagen, Hyaluronic Acid, Cetylated Fatty Acids, Bio Active Whey protein, Devils Claw and Bromelain.
Although it includes other ingredients that promote joint health, MaxxiFlex Plus is also quite a bit more expensive than other similar Glucosamine and Chondroitin supplements. As I stated in my video review, if you’re on a budget you may want to stick with a cheaper option for your pet’s joint health.
This is another product that offers hard-to-measure results. If your dog has hip and joint problems, you may notice a difference by giving him MaxxiFlex Plus, but I didn’t notice a difference with my girls. They did eat the pills without hesitation, so I know the flavor and texture is acceptable.
MaxxiOmega Oil for dogs
We had great results with this product too! If you’ve got a dog with skin issues, this is the product you’ve been waiting for. Trust me, I’ve been fighting a constant battle with our chocolate lab who struggles with dry skin. We’ve tried countless products to help her, and we discovered the benefits of coconut oil a few months back.

We got good results with the coconut oil, but this MaxxiOmega Oil has stopped her itching entirely, aided in the repair of her skin and has also brightened her coat! This advanced fatty acid formula contains Omega 3, 6 and 9. The formula contains soybean oil, coconut oil, flaxseed oil and fish oil.
We switched Saddie from fish oil to coconut oil and both products seemed to help her skin and coat. I was excited to try this product that included both oils and combined other healthy ingredients too. This is another product that showed us noticeable results in just a few days.
MaxxiCalm for dogs
This isn’t a product for every dog owner, but if your pet suffers from anxiety you should give this one a try. Our boxer has anxiety about everything – loud noises, car rides, baths and grooming – you name it and she has anxiety about it. We give her MaxxiCalm every day now, and after just a few weeks we have seen noticeable results.
It certainly isn’t a cure-all, but her level of anxiety has decreased. She’s not as anxious as she was before, and she rarely shakes or pants uncontrollably anymore. She used to have anxiety attacks over simple things, like if I dropped a pan on the floor and it made a loud noise. Now the attacks happen much less frequently.
MaxxiCalm is a calming aid for dogs that contains natural ingredients including Taurine, Inositol (sometimes called Vitamin B8), and Chamomile. These ingredients have been proven to support balanced behavior and help dogs maintain calmness. All the ingredients in MaxxiCalm are human grade and work to naturally help reduce stress and tension and promote a positive mood.
Summary of MaxxiDog Dog Supplements Review
PROS: These MaxxiDog supplements for dogs work. Well, at least the products that show noticeable results on the outside do. I can’t measure liver function, joint health or cognitive development, but these products did aid in the skin and coat health, digestive health and emotional health of my dogs.

As for the rest, I suppose we’ll just have to assume that based on the track record of the other MaxxiDog supplements and the research and development that went into these natural formulas, that they will probably have positive effects as well. All of these products were palatable to my dogs, and the food additives didn’t seem to change the taste of their food for better or worse.
CONS: To put it simply, the price. You’re going to be buying these dog supplements on top of the food, toys and other goods that your dog needs. I understand that many of us are on a budget, and honestly the price factor is why we’re not giving our dogs all of these supplements.
“The ingredients used in our products are not only “top end,“ they also include more ingredients than most – including some that are more expensive and therefore usually left out by other brands in order to keep the price down (and sometimes the function too). So, ingredients wise we are comparable with the most expensive products out there but price range we are around the middle. This is because our route to market, i.e. only selling on-line direct to consumers, allows us to keep overhead down.” – Birgir and Asa, creators of MaxxiDog Supplements
I don’t have a price for the MaxxiDigest yet, as it isn’t available in the U.S., but I’m assuming it will be fairly pricey like the rest. I think all of these products will last about 2 months (according to the recommended dosing instructions) if you have a medium sized dog- give or take some if you have a small or large breed. The MaxxiSAMe is $50, the MaxxiFlex Plus is $35, the MaxxiOmega Oil is $23 and the MaxxiCalm is $28.
Now, as I stated in my video review, if you’re looking for some high quality supplements for your pet, these products are great. However, if you’re on a budget I would recommend choosing either the MaxxiDigest or the MaxxiOmega Oil. Both products have benefits for your dog’s overall health and well-being, and their formulas are unique. You can find other calming aids, liver and cognitive support supplements and joint health supplements for a much cheaper price.
