#1 – Destructive Behavior

If your Boxer is turning your house into his playground – chewing shoes, eating garbage, digging at carpets – then he most likely has some pent-up energy. While you may need to add some training into your regimen as well, increasing your Boxer’s exercise can definitely help minimize these behaviors.

#2 – Overweight

If your Boxer starts to lose her definition around the hips (she should have a waist!) and you notice flabby muscles, she probably needs more exercise. It’s always good to get her checked out at a vet as well. This will rule out health issues, such as diabetes, and your vet can recommend a diet change to aid in weight loss, if necessary.

#3 – Pestering You

Dogs are pretty good at letting you know if they want something from you, including exercise. If your Boxer is pawing you, following you around, shoving a toy in your lap, etc., he is trying to tell you tell you he needs some exercise. Some will even push themselves onto your lap and right into your face while you try to watch TV or sit at the computer. These are clear signals that he wants you off your seat and outside to run.
