Pet owners spend a lot of time feeling guilty for leaving their pet at home. Whether they are at work, out of town, or out running errands, most dog owners feel bad when they need to leave their pets at home alone for hours at a time. Brooke Martin, a fourteen-year-old girl, had the same guilty feelings when her dog was left alone, and she decided to do something about it.

Brooke created the iCPooch. Dog owners attach their tablet to the front of the device and then they are able to use their smartphone to call and video chat their dog whenever they want. The gadget also lets owners release a treat to their pup with the push of a button.

The teen built a working prototype with the help of her father, and they had already sold hundreds of the units online before they even began showing the product at expos and summits. With help from Startup Weekend and Kickstarter she was able to achieve her dream and get her product on store shelves and available at online retailers like Amazon.
