An inseparable pair of four-legged best friends were found abandoned together in a sea tunnel in Northern England and are now looking for a home – together, of course.

Glenn is a fully blind Jack Russell Terrier. His very best friend is Buzz, a senior Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Glenn follows Buzz everywhere – but Buzz doesn’t mind. In fact, he’s taken it upon himself to be Glenn’s guide dog, leading him to his food and water, his bed, and kennel.

“Glenn doesn’t need him outside where he can run around, but he needs Buzz inside the kennels to stop him banging into things. He helps Glenn find his way to his bed by sort of pushing him towards the front of the kennel and guiding him in… Buzz also nudges him towards his food, they eat side by side, and he pushes him toward his bowl, or away from his [Buzz’s] if Glenn is going for the wrong bowl,” explained Diane Humphrey, a supervisor at Stray Aid, the shelter that rescued and is now caring for the pair.

“We think they have been together for a long time but we don’t know for sure, they both seem to be a similar age. If they are apart for long they start to cry and whine. Glenn also gets quite disorientated without Buzz. They are both lovely little dogs, they are good with people.”

Because the pair were found abandoned, their history is unknown. Both are seniors, each about 10-years old, but in great health, very friendly, and even playful at times.

Because Glenn and Buzz are so bonded, they need to find the right home together. They will absolutely not be separated.

“Glenn gets his confidence from Buzz and if they were separated even for a few minutes they both bark and become distressed so they would need to have a loving home together,” Sue Bielby from the Stray Aid shelter told BBC.

You could say Glenn and Buzz (named for astronauts John Glenn and Buzz Aldrin?) love each other to the moon and back!
