Height and Weight
Adult male Boxers typically weigh 65-80 lbs., and have a height of 23-25 in at the withers. Bitches, on the other hand, are quite smaller for they only weigh about 50-65 lbs., and stand a height of 21-23.5 in at their withers.
Temperament
The members of the Boxers breed have been renowned for their loving and faithful nature toward their master. They are known to be harmless in the household, though can be distrustful when it comes to the unfamiliar. Their bright and friendly temperament at play is well-complemented by their bravery and determination when aroused. Boxers are cheerful, intelligent, tractable, modest and clean. For this, they have become one of the most desirable family dogs all throughout the years. Also, Boxers are observed to be highly active and energetic. They are playful, and seem to crave for attention. Boxers are very capable of bonding well with children. They are generally patient with puppies and smaller dogs, but can be rather difficult to manage when around larger dogs, especially those coming from the same sex.
Grooming
Because Boxers only have a very short kind of coat, keeping it clean becomes easy. In fact, grooming them twice every week would be enough to keep them from over-shedding.
Health Concerns
Some of the most common health issues that members of the Boxer breed usually suffer include cancer and colitis. Other problems include bloating, canine hypothyroidism, heart diseases, and other respiratory ailments. They are also prone to arthritis and hip dysplasia. Nonetheless, giving them proper diet and exercise, Boxers are capable of living for as long as 8 to 12 years.
