New supplement makes homemade dog food meet aafco requirements
Siobhan Oldham, an entrepreneur from Los Angeles, California, launched her flagship product this spring at the beginning of March. Azestfor is a mineral and vitamin supplement that, if used in combination with the companies recipes, will make homemade dog food meet the Association of American Feed Control Officials adult dog food requirements.
Commercial dog food has very few government regulations, which is why the quality of some commercial pet foods is so poor. One of the keys to making homemade dog food is making sure that it is nutritionally balanced and that your dog is getting all the nutrients that their body requires from it. Azestfor takes the guess work out of creating well balanced meals for your pet.
Oldham’s company, also named Azestfor, only provides the mix and the easy to make recipes right now, but she’s hoping to expand by attending expos and events in her area. In fact, she debuted her product at the Natural Products Expo West in Anaheim, and based on the feedback she received she is also planning on attending the Natural Products Expo East in Baltimore and the SuperZoo event in Las Vegas later this year.

The dog food recipes are available on the company’s website and also come included on every package of Azestfor that they sell. These recipes are scientifically formulated by a pet nutritionist to make sure that they provide all the nutrients that a canine needs.

With all the issues surrounding commercial dog food brands right now, Oldham is expecting her product to be very popular with consumers that are already making their own dog food. Homemade dog food has been proven to improve dog’s health and save the pet owner money.
All Azestfor recipes use easy to find ingredients like chicken, peas, cauliflower, couscous, and sweet potatoes, and because the pet owner is in charge of buying the ingredients themselves, they are also in charge of the quality of those ingredients. Pet owners have the option of using organic or all natural ingredients if they so choose.
All the dog food recipes provided are also able to be made ahead of time. They will all stay fresh in the refrigerator for a week as long as they are sealed in an airtight container. Plus, pet owners can also make larger quantities of any of the recipes, portion them in freezer bags, and they will keep in the freezer for up to one year.
