This unique story of severe neglect finally has a happy ending!
Jack Russell / Chihuahua mix Bubba was found this past March in horrific condition: he was high on drugs, including heroin, methamphetamine, and marijuana, according to CBSLA. He was taken in by OC Animal Care in Orange, California when his owner was (unsurprisingly) arrested on suspicion of drug possession.

Miraculously, this little pup not only survived, he was successfully detoxed. What’s more, requests to adopt Bubba came pouring in!

Four months later, the energetic pup’s blood tests finally came back clean, meaning he was ready to go to his forever home–and they found the perfect one for him! Just look at this beautiful family:
