Video: Dog Purposely Starved to Death By Owner Gets Saved Just in Time
The sad reality of unwanted dogs in Sydney, Australia gets a new lease on life. A group of volunteers manage a shelter and care for the unwanted dogs and place them in forever homes and to date, they have saved 11,000 already. The task involved is not simple and requires the love and care of the community to save unwanted dogs who number about 600 at any one time. Monika Biernacki, who is the prime mover of Monika’s Doggie Rescue going, counts on volunteers to give time to transport, care for, walk and feed the dogs till they are able to match each dog with a family.
A heartwarming story that many have taken up the challenge to make a difference for the unwanted who otherwise would have to be destroyed by the local pound. This is a fine example of how we can do good if we all work together. As we continue to advocate for responsible ownership, we also have to manage the ones that fall through the cracks and provide a safety net.
