Bachelor party becomes puppy rescue mission when stray dog crashes camp

Mitchel Craddock’s bachelor party became a puppy rescue mission when a stray dog who had recently given birth crashed the mens’ camp in search of bacon.
“We were cooking bacon with the door open. The next thing you know, there’s this dog sitting right at the front door. She wouldn’t come inside, but she sat right there,” Craddock told ABC News.
The group of 8 dog-loving men quickly fell for the sweet girl who, they could easily tell, had recently given birth to a litter of puppies.
“After we gave her a bunch of food and water, she started producing milk again. So we figured if she’s making milk, her pups can’t be that old.”
The men followed the new mom to a spot in the nearby woods that she was very protective over. It was there that they found a large hole with 7 puppies snuggling inside. Although the puppies were dirty and had fleas, each one of them appeared healthy and plump. “Every single one had a big fat belly on them. The mom had given the pups literally everything she had,” Craddock explained.
With their hearts in all the right places, Craddock and his groomsmen pooled together the money they’d saved for food and beer for the bachelor party and, instead, put it toward puppy food.
What’s more, Craddock, his groomsmen, and other family and friends adopted mom and all 7 of her puppies. They named the smart mama dog Annie, after Little Orphan Annie. The puppies were named Brimmie, Rosie , Daisy, Knox, Gunner, Bear and Finn.
Today, Annie and all 7 of her puppies are doing wonderfully and have fantastic lives ahead of them – best of all, they all live in the same area, within a 5-mile radius of one another and will get together for playdates for the rest of their lives!
