We love our dogs so much we would do almost anything to make them comfortable. We would even sacrifice our pricey possessions just for them.

In Reston, Virginia, a man named Don Chernoff sacrificed his Nike shoes to lend his pup a paw. Don Chernoff’s 10-year-old Golden Retriever named Sunny had his left leg amputated because of a tumor. After losing his leg, Sunny needed an artifial paw to move around.

Sunny was provided with a prosthetic paw, however, it kept on breaking. The prosthetic paw would either break under Sunny’s weight or would get chewed by him.

Don had a brilliant idea. He took his Nike Zoom Vapor 9 tennis shoes, ripped it apart, and with some duct tape, he was able to make a DIY prosthetic paw for Sunny!

According to the post by BarkPost, this particular Nike shoe is the favorite of famous tennis player Roger Federer. A pair would cost around $140 upwards.

Thanks to Don’s ingenuity, Sunny now has a faux paw that is bendable and built for moving around!
