Puppy rescued by fire fighter is overjoyed when she gets a chance to see him again

Mike Thawley is a fire fighter in Sacramento, California who has helped a lot more than a few people in his days on the job. He recently found a tiny, sick Pit Bull puppy tied up in the rain. Seeing the condition she was in, he knew she had been abandoned. Thawley cleaned her up a bit and took her Front Street Animal Shelter for much-needed veterinary care. But being the loving gentleman Thawley is, he had to stop by and check on the pup the very next day.

To his surprise, she was absolutely overjoyed to see him! The puppy, named Chunkie, instantly recognized her rescuer and couldn’t help but explode with excitement. Thawley picked her up, petted her and even gave her a pink sweater to wear while she recovers from her mange. When he left, Chunkie wanted nothing more than to go with him. Her wish might be his command, as he’s now talking with his family about the possibility of fostering Chunkie.

We certainly hope Thawley and his family decide to bring her home! This adorable pup has a very obvious love for her rescuer who saved her. Without his help, who knows what would have happened to this abandoned puppy. Thankfully she’s recovering nicely and in good hands now – soon to find her forever home we hope!
