Video: Abandoned Dog With 46-Pound Tumor Gets Life-Saving Surgery

Can you imagine what it would be like if you had a serious illness and your family just abandoned you? It’s sad, depressing, and it’s like the weight of the world is on your shoulders.

That’s probably how this dog named Henry felt when he was abandoned.

Henry is a Golden Retriever who was found wandering on the beach of Newport by animal control officers. What makes Henry’s plight even worse is that he had a gigantic 46-pound tumor on his belly. The tumor was so huge that it made Henry look pregnant and it made walking difficult for him.

But despite that, Henry remained a sweet and loving dog. An animal control officer named Valerie Schomburg rescued Henry. She told CBS Local, “…the whole time, he’s trying to give you kisses and wagging his tail and so that kept us going for the time until we can make a decision.
