Puppies are adorable, there’s no doubt about that. And as dog lovers, we are known to squeal with delight at the sight of an adorable puppy. But sadly, that may be why most older dogs don’t get noticed much at shelters. The playful little pups are the ones that often get all the attention, while the older dogs get overlooked.

Thankfully, there are some dog lovers out there who know that senior dogs are just as cute as pups, and not only, they also know that senior dogs are special and they are the ones who need love the most. Just like Erin Winn and her husband, Josh Weichel.
Erin and Josh saw a video of a dog who has been overlooked for years–a dog named Padre.

Poor old Padre is a senior Boxer who was surrendered by his family and was brought to the Dog Tales Rescue and Sanctuary in Ontario, Canada. Padre has degenerative myelopathy, and because of that, everyday it gets harder for him to move. So to help him move, Padre was given a wheelchair.
So unlike active pups, Padre was not as playful. People just kept passing him by, because instead of seeing just how special he is, they see a big responsibility.
Thankfully, Clare Forndran of Dog Tales Rescue and Sanctuary knew just how special Padre is. So she posted a video of him so everyone can see his potential.
And it so happens that Erin and Josh saw Padre’s video and were moved by it. They wanted to help him and give him the loving home he’s long been searching for.

When Erin saw Padre, it was like love at first sight. So with no hesitation, the couple adopted Padre and their home became his.
Thanks to this amazing couple, Padre found the love and the home he has been looking for.
