Houston Police and the SPCA are seeking the public’s help in finding the owner of a German Shepherd found dumped on the side of the road, her face duct taped, and suffering from severe injuries that, ultimately, resulted in her death.

A deputy found the dog on Monday afternoon. She was immediately rushed to the SPCA for veterinary care where it was determined that she’d suffered tremendous neglect and abuse before being dumped and left to die alone on the side of the road. Although great efforts were made to ease her pain, her injuries were too severe.

A statement on Houston SPCA’s Facebook page said, “Upon examination, the senior, female German Shepherd was suffering from head trauma, had her muzzle taped closed and multiple tumors with punctures. The Houston SPCA veterinary team worked attentively to ease her pain and ascertain her injuries. It was soon determined that she could not be saved as her skull had been crushed -she was humanely euthanized.”

Now, the Houston SPCA is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call the Houston SPCA at (713)869-7722 or Precinct 1 at (713)755-7628.
