The 12 dogs of christmas: meet caesar, in rescue for almost 2 years!

It’s the holidays! The time of year for families to gather together to celebrate traditions, share memories, and make new ones. This year, as you surround yourself with family and friends, both two-legged and four-legged alike, remember there are millions of dogs in shelters, patiently waiting for a family of their own.

For some, this won’t be their first, second, or even their third Christmas behind bars.

It’s our Christmas wish that every dog in rescue would find a home for the holidays, so we’ve selected 12 special dogs from around the country that have been overlooked time and time again. Some are senior dogs, some have special needs, and some are passed over for reasons we simply can’t understand – but, they all deserve to spend the holidays with a family of their own.

We’re calling this the 12 Dogs of Christmas. The Dogington Post along with our friends at Wellness have joined forces to introduce you to 12 needy dogs in hopes that they’ll finally get noticed…and maybe get a home for the holidays!

Meet Caesar!

Caesar is a 4-year old Chihuahua who wasrescued from the county shelter euthanasia list in March of 2014 by the amazing folks at Premier Animal Rescue in Vacaville, California.

He was adopted last year at this time, but was returned to the rescue when the couple split up.

Caesar loves to snuggle and sit with you and do whatever you are doing! He is always happy with his people. He loves to go on walks. He’s a great companion!

Special Considerations: Like many Chihuahuas, Caesar has a bark! If left alone, he would feel less stressed being in his crate. Ideally, he would not spend more than a few hours in the crate each day.

The Perfect Family For Caesar: would have at least one member home most of the time so that he could be with him. He likes kids, and would do well with school-age and above kids that would play with him and take him on adventures! He’s fine with cats and other dogs and would enjoy having other animals in the house.

Caesar will soon face another Christmas without a family.
